Distance Relationship: Possible or not???
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, love is a feeling of strong or constant affection for a person. We love God, our family, our friends. Love is not always a feeling for a person but also for an object. For instance, we love where we come from, our origin and sometimes what we possess. Love is a natural thing.
There are different kinds of love. However, only one caught my interest; the love we share with someone else. I call it the "secret love" because only two people can understand what they both feel about it. It is the same when you are alone with your God and you pray. The love that exists between you and God is secret; it cannot be explained or described. Well, let's talk business now :D
So many people get scared about losing or getting into a distance relationship. In fact, I was really scared before until my boyfriend tells me: "The biggest distance in a couple is not the physical distance but the lack of communication." When he said this, I couldn't understand at the beginning. I've watched and analysed my parent's relationship and I realized that two people can leave in the same room but still feel the distance. meaning, the distance is not always physical but it can also be a state of mind if you do not corporate or communicate with your mate. Well, you may be confused, but you'll understand better as you read.
I have been living a distance relationship for about 3 years now. The advice I'll share with you is what my boyfriend and I have been doing and it worked with us. I believe if you do the same, that will also work for you.
Here are four tips I'll share with you:
2. Communication

Here are four tips I'll share with you:
- Trust
When you decide to be in a relation, it is important to trust your mate. If you do not trust him or her, then there's no point of being together because this will affect your relationship at long term especially for a distance relation. Trust is the first key. Now, you may ask yourself what if my boyfriend or my girlfriend cheats. Well, that's the thing. There are people even during their marriage they do cheat, but that does not mean the person is not in love with you?! Right?? I do not agree with someone cheating but we should all understand that nobody is perfect and things can happen; but we gotta learn how to overcome those difficulties. What I mean by trust is, being sure that NOBODY will come between you and your mate. Mistakes can happen but both of you should comprehend that those mistakes must not tear you apart. I, for example, trust my boyfriend. Sometimes I feel like he cheats on me but I know he belongs to me. Distance relationships are not always easy.
Indeed, It takes years to develop and can be destroyed in a seconds. That is the reason why, you must trust your mate and never listen to what people are telling you. Listen to your heart and your heart is your mate :)
2. Communication
This is the MOST important thing in any relationship. We will never cease to communicate. Whether in a distance relationship or not, you MUST communicate. Communication is not only about telling each other how much "I love you" but it's about sharing ideas, discussing about certain issues. For example, if there's a breaking news, try to talk about that. Discuss about your future, how good or bad your day was, what you're planning to do the next day, your good and bad moments, your happiness and sadness. Also, if you didn't appreciate what your mate did to you, better tell him or her and solve all the issues. Tell your mate about your feelings. Now, there are a lot of way to communicate. You can talk and or text by phone using Skype, Viber, Cacao Talk, Facebook Call, Phones call, and so on. You can also video Skype where you guys can see each other. My boyfriend and I usually use email since we both busy but any way is find; as long as you communicate and express your feelings and emotions, every things will be fine.
3. Loyalty
It is important to support one another. The physical distance should not prevent you from being loyal to your mate. Sending message or calling your mate and tell him or her how much you're proud and support him or her makes the relationship better. Your mate will feel love and especially supported. This attitude will make your relation stronger.
Last but not least, of course LOVE your mate. What else should I write that you do not know?! Just love him/her as you always do.
If you need to talk or send me an email, visit the Contact Page or email me at beautybymyriam@yahoo.com . I'll be gladly to help you with my own experience with distance relationship.
Hair Routine: 2nd Part "Mask and conditioner"
Hey loves,
If you didn't read the first part, I strongly encourage you to do so. This will definitely help you understand the different process on how to take care of your natural hair.
Now, this second part is about the mask and also the conditioner.
It's extremely important to always do a mask on your hair after shampooing. The reason is simple. Shampoo usually dries the hair. It sometimes removes all the good nutrients of your hair. So you want to make sure your hair receives full nutriments. Therefore, the mask is the right thing you should go for.
You can either do a protein or moisturizing mask or even both. In my case, I opted for both because I wanted my hair to receive both nutrients.
For the mask I used:
-Garnier Triple Nutrition
-Vitamin E
-Hair Mayonnaise
-yolk
-honey
-Tres Semme Conditioner
-Keratin Mask (I used it as a base)
Make sure to mix them very well and apply it on your hair. For best use, divide your hair in different sections. at least 4 sections for medium length and 6 sections for short hair. Massage your scalp and leave it for 10 min minimum. You may sit under a cask if you want to.
Later on, wash your hair thoroughly and use a conditioner to soft your hair. That will help you to manage your hair easily. You may use your favorite conditioner. In the video, I used the Dark and Lovely conditioner. Leave it on your hair for min 5min and you may rinse.
This concludes the second part of our hair routine.
Stay tune for the next and last part!!
God bless :)

Hair Routine: 1st Part "Oil Treatment + Shampoo"
Being "Nappy" or "Natural and Happy" is not fashionable. It's a state of mind. For others like me, it's a way to express ourselves in the society. In another post, I will give you every details concerning my natural hair. But for now, I'll talk to you about my regimen.
It has been two years and one month that I am nappy. I have used a lot of products in my hair during those two years. However, I decided to share with you most of the products I used often and also my hair likes.
I'm a 4a-4b hair. It's not really kinky cause my hair does have loose curls. The first thing I start whenever I do a treatment on my hair is the "Oil Treatment".
It consist of applying your favorite oils on your hair. This process reinforces your hair by adding proteins and give a shine. I always start with it before shampooing because shampoo usually dries the hair off and removes all the nutrients in your hair. So you want to make sure your hair contains enough protein to remain healthy. Now, You do not need to mix all the oils in the world to do your treatment. If you have one oil that you prefere and your hair likes, you may use it and apply on your scalp, the lenght and most important on the ends of your hair. The ends are usually dries so you want to make sure they receive enough nutrients. In my case, I mixed Black Castor, Jojoba, Olive, Rosemary, Vitamin E, Argan, Almond and Peppermint Oils (Peppermint oil by Eden Body Works has no parabens and no mineral oils, It's excellent for natural hair type.) Shaked them and apply it as explained in the beginning. Then, wear a plastic cap or bag to create the heat. If you're in a hurry, you may go under a dryer for about 30min. When I have time, I leave it on my hair for 30min minimum.
If you are a new "Nappy" and do not know what kind of oils to use, I recommend Olive and Coconut oils because they are very light and easy to absord. Most of kinky hairs easily absorbs those oils. You may also try the African Shea Butter. This is an amazing product.
Few hours later, it's time to shampoo your hair. In that video,
I used the African Black Soap Deep Cleaning from the Shea Moisture brand to wash out my hair. With some water in my spray bottle, I added some of that shampoo then apply it on my hair. You can make sections on your hair if you want too. I like sections cause it prevents knots and at the same time, I can finger detangle my hair. I leave it for about 5min then I rinse off.
Then, I shampoo my hair a second time but this time, I use the L'Oreal Shampoo for Colored Hair. Because I have colored hair, I used this shampoo just to give some sheen to my hair.
You may skip that step if you don't want to use a second shampoo but it's my preference. Then, you may go to the next part on the post "Hair Routine: Mask + Conditioner"
